Jeung Yoon-chae (Hangul정윤채, born December 6, 2007) is a South Korean singer. Managed by Hybe and Geffen Records, she is a member of girl group Katseye. In 2023, she participated as a contestant on the reality show The Debut: Dream Academy and finished in fourth place during the finale, earning her position in the group.[1].

Career

2023: The Debut: Dream Academy

After four years of training with Hybe Labels,[2] Yoonchae participated in the Hybe X Geffen Records survival show, which started on September 1, 2023, and ended on November 17, 2023.[3]

During the first mission, she was in Dance Team B, and from fan votes she earned immunity from eliminations, ranking 5th at midterm and 6th in the final results of Mission 1.[4]. During the second mission, she was in the "Antifragile" Team A, and again earned immunity from eliminations.[5] During the third mission, she was in the "Confident" team and succeeded in earning a place in the live finale.[6] During the live Finale, she was in the team "Girls Don't Like". Her final score was 78.00, allowing her to debut.[7]

2024–present: Debut with Katseye

In June 2024, Hybe confirmed that the release of the Katseye's first EP was set for August that year.[8][9] Jeung debuted alongside the other members of Katseye with the single, "Debut", on June 28.[10]
