Yoshiaki Sato
Professor Sir Yoshiaki Sato, M.D., Ph.D. of Tokyo, Japan is the inventor of KAATSU Training. He invented KAATSU[1] Training or BFR in 1966 in Tokyo, Japan and is the Chief Executive Officer of KAATSU Japan Co., Ltd.[2][3]
He has co-authored over 100 published papers on KAATSU in peer-reviewed publications.[4][5] Dr. Sato holds 48 patents regarding KAATSU in Japan, United States, France, Germany, Italy, Australia, China, Korea, Canada and Hong Kong.[6][7] He served as the Chairman of the Department of KAATSU Training Ischemic Circulatory Physiology in the 22nd Century Medical and Research Center at The University of Tokyo [8]
He manages the KAATSU Center at the Research Institute of Sports Science of the State General Administration of Sports in the People's Republic of China and is the co-founder of KAATSU Global, Inc.[9] [10]
Honors
He is honored as a Knight Commander of The Ecumenical Medical Humanitarian Order of Saint John Jerusalem. He serves as the Chairman of the Japan KAATSU Training Society.
