Yoshio Ishizaka

Yoshio Ishizaka (Japanese: 石坂芳男) is a Japanese industrialist who has held numerous high level positions in the Toyota Motor Corporation, including Executive Vice President.[1]

Early life[edit]

Ishizaka was raised in the city of Machida, part of the Tokyo Metropolis in Japan. He graduated from the Hitotsubashi University School of Law in 1963 and was hired by Toyota Motor Corporation’s Sales Division in 1964.[2]

Career[edit]

Ishizaka was responsible for launching the Lexus brand in the United States starting the 1980's and he became President of Toyota Motor Sales, USA in 1996. Since 2001 he has served as Executive Vice President in charge of Toyota's overall overseas operations and is a Senior Advisor to the Board.[3][1]

His book, “The Toyota Way in Sales and Marketing” was published in Japan in 2008 and an English translation was published in 2009.[4]
