Yousaf Sohan is the Bishop of the Roman Catholic Diocese of Multan in Pakistan.

Sohan was born on 2 September 1958 in Layyah, Punjab. He attended St. Mary's Minor Seminary, Lahore and completed his studies at the Christ the King Seminary in Karachi. He was ordained a priest on 3 July 1985 for the Diocese of Multan.[1]

His first appointment was as assistant parish priest of the Cathedral of the Holy Redeemer from1985-1986. He was parish priest of the Holy Eucharist Church in Mian Channu and head of the La Salle School hostel from 1986-1989. He served as parish priest of Saint Joseph the Worker Church in Khanewal during 1990-1991. He proceeded for studies in biblical theology at the Pontifical Urban University, Rome in 1991-1992. In the following years he was parish priest of Saint Peter’s Church in Vehari (1992-2000); parish priest of Saint Joseph’s Church in Fatehpur (2001-2002). From 2002 he was vicar general of the diocese and parish priest of Saint Joseph the Worker Church in Khanewal (2002-2011); parish priest of Our Lady of Loreto Parish in Multan (2011-2014); parish priest of the Cathedral of the Holy Redeemer (2014-2016); and parish priest of the Holy Cross Parish in Rahim Yar Khan (2016-2018).[2]

He has served as director of vocations of the diocese, chaplain for young people, director of diocesan Caritas, director of the Catechetics and Biblical Commissions, and the Commissions for Real Estate and Justice and Peace, and member of the National Marian Committee. Since 2018 he has served as parish priest of the Cathedral of the Most Holy Redeemer, and teacher at Saint Joseph’s Minor Seminary in Multan.[3]

On December 9, 2022, Pope Francis appointed him Bishop of Multan. In a December 12, 2022 interview he outlined his plans to promote education in the diocese. He plans to build more schools and enable homeless children to access education. The Catholic Board of Education, Multan, currently manages 27 schools which provide education to thousands.[4]

He was consecrated bishop on 2 February 2023 by Archbishop Christophe Zakhia El-Kassis, Apostolic Nuncio to Pakistan, while the Co-Consecrators were Archbishop Sebastian Francis Shaw, O.F.M. of Lahore and Archbishop Benny Mario Travas of Karachi, at the Cathedral of the Holy Redeemer, Multan.[5]
