Yu Gu (researcher)
Yu Gu (Chinese: 顾禹), also known as Aiden Gu, is an artificial intelligence researcher in health and biomedicine.[1] His research has included biomedical language models and multimodal biomedical foundation models, including PubMedBERT and BiomedParse.[2][3]
Education
Gu studied microelectronics and economics at Peking University.[1]
Research
Biomedical language models
Gu was first author of "Domain-Specific Language Model Pretraining for Biomedical Natural Language Processing", published in ACM Transactions on Computing for Healthcare.[2] The paper received the ACM HEALTH 2022 Best Paper Award.[4]
Biomedical image foundation models
Gu was a co-first author of BiomedParse, a biomedical foundation model published in Nature Methods.[3] A Nature Methods News & Views article described BiomedParse as unifying detection, segmentation and recognition for biomedical image analysis.[5]
