Yuichi Shimogami (霜上 雄一, Shimogami Yūichi, born 5 March 1998) is a Japanese badminton player hailing from Kumamoto Prefecture.[1] He graduated from Nippon Sport Science University, and joined Hitachi Information & Telecommunication Engineering, Ltd. badminton team on 1 April 2020.[2]

Career

2024

Shimogami played in the S/J League Yokohama tournament on 8 December. He partnered with Haruki Kawabe in the men's doubles match representing Hitachi Information & Communication Engineering. They played against Akira Koga and Naoki Yamada from NTT East. The pair secured a victory in a hard-fought match that went to three games, ultimately winning the final game with a close score of 21–19. This win contributed to Hitachi's 3–0 victory over NTT East.[3]

2025

In February, Shimogami represented Japan at the 2025 Badminton Asia Mixed Team Championships.[4] In the group stage, he and Nomura won their match against Artur Niyazov and Dmitriy Panarin of Kazakhstan. Although selected to compete against Satwiksairaj Rankireddy and Chirag Shetty of India in the quarterfinals, the match was unnecessary as Japan had already won 3–0. Japan was defeated by China in the semi-finals, resulting in a bronze medal finish for the team.
