Yumi is an online food service company that connects people with nearby chefs to order their favorite meals. Yumi’s main competency is that it only provides home-cooked and healthy meals to customers. We are currently operating in Wandsworth, London.
Yumi’s platform has three types of audiences, customers, chefs and drivers. How it works with Yumi is that after the customer downloads the application, they place an order from their selected Chef’s menu and then a driver is assigned to go pick up the order from the Chef and deliver it to the Customer.
The idea of Yumi started during the pandemic, nearly all countries have been facing a lot of restrictions, curfews and limitations to many services, including going out simply to have dinner at a restaurant. So instead of going to a restaurant, why wouldn’t the customers order food online especially now.
According to previous studies; food from any restaurant usually has high levels of saturated fats, calories and sodium, unlike home-cooked food which is easier to monitor and it results in pursuing a healthier lifestyle and diet; therefore; we can confidently say that home-cooked food will always be healthier than fast food. A normal fast food meal ranges between 1,000 – 1,200 KCAL which is basically the recommended number of calories a woman should consume in a day; therefore, it would be easier when it comes to home-cooked food because it’s much easier to check the number of calories you consume every day. Another benefit is that home-cooked food actually saves more money if we compare it to fast food, and if you try avoiding fast food for a week or two, you will see that you did save a lot of money. Home-cooked food always provides a larger variety, especially because there is a large number of cuisines around the world and usually Chefs become specialized in something.
