Yung Heazy (AKA: Jordan Heaney) is a Canadian musician and songwriter who lives in Vancouver, British Columbia.[1].

Music Career[edit]

Heaney’s music gained attention when one of his songs, ‘Cuz You’re My Girl’ was uploaded to YouTube by Ukrainian tastemaker Alona Chemerys[2]

“I have no idea how she found the song. I just put it up on SoundCloud, and it had, like, 100 plays or something. She somehow found the song through the depths of the Internet and decided to put it on her channel. And it just happened organically.” Heaney told John Lucas for The Georgia Straight in May 2018.[2]

Cuz’ You’re My Girl was later included in the June 1, 2018 release of Heaney’s first album, Whenever You’re Around I Hate Everything Less.

Since it was first posted to YouTube in July 2017 Cuz You’re My Girl has been viewed more than 4 and a half million times.

In fall 2019 Heaney released his second EP, Lullabies. The EP features a cover of the Hers song Cool With You.[1]

Fall 2019 also saw a music video collaboration with YouTube comedian Cherdleys, Ryan the Leader, and TikTok Rapper Dbangz. The collaboration was named Kool Musik.

On April 20, 2020, Heaney released I UR BOY, his second album. Much of the album was inspired by a romantic breakup that Heaney went through.[3]

“These songs started in the same vein as the first album. Happy love songs. They were written with that theme in mind. But I went through this breakup, so I had to switch my subject matter from being very in love with this person to being about ‘how do I deal with what feels like my universe crumbling in on itself?’ It's still a concept album, but like the mirrored image of the first album," Heaney told Zoë Mason for Sidedoor Mag in May 2020. [3]

Most recently Heaney released The Pickle Song through Vancouver record label Unbelievably Spectacular on December 4th, 2020[4]. The song is inspired by a bout of depression Heaney went through during the Pandemic’s early days[4]. It has a comedic, tongue-in-cheek tone.

“During the isolation... I started a ritual of painting five or six pickles every morning and it became this really weird obsession that people were getting surprised about,” Heaney told Postmedia’s Stuart Derdeyn in December 2020.[4]
