Yunus Emre Kara (born 09 February 1982 in Ankara) is a Turkish interior architect and designer. He is a designer in search of future fictions in his designs and he is best known for his researches on organic forms and parametric design in architectural and interior design fields as well as in furniture and product design.
Biography[edit]
Kara was born in Ankara, Turkey. He received his Bachelor’s degree on interior design from Fine Arts Faculty of Anadolu University. He studied interior design, graphic design and applied industrial design in Hawk University Of Applied Sciences And Arts (Hochschule Hildesheim/Holzminden/Göttingen).
Since 2010, he carries his architectural and interior works within the structure of Zoom TPU. Among the interior projects that he designed with Atilla Kuzu and Levent Çırpıcı, Henkel Showroom, SALT (institution) Galata Auditorium, Liv Hospital Ulus, TR-Pharm Kanyon Office, Memorial Wellness in Zorlu Center are the notable projects.
Furniture, product design and art works[edit]
- He is working on furniture designs for Ozon Design. In 2015, Spin low table has been short-listed for Red Dot Design Concept Award in Furniture category.[1]
- Installation, "MONOLITS" Stone monoliths designed by Zoom TPU and produced by exhibition sponsor Silkar Madencilik/AKDO examines the role of abstraction and symbolism in urban spaces and culture. Exhibition is realised as a part of the 3rd Istanbul Biennial, Parallel Events Programme and curated by Gökhan Karakuş (Emedya Design). Works exhibited are Monoton by Atilla Kuzu, Monofon by Levent Çırpıcı, Monoman by Yunus Emre Kara and Esik by Deniz Üner.[2]
- In 2019, he designed X-Lamp suspended light for Bahar Contract Lighting brand. The product was exhibited in Milan Furniture Fair Euroluce Section in 2019. [3] [4] [5]
