Yushania exilis is a species of bamboo in the grass family, belonging to the genus Yushania in the tribe Arundinarieae.[1] It was first described by T.P. Yi in 1986 as part of a comprehensive revision of the genus.[2] The specific epithet exilis means "slender" or "thin", referring to the habit of the plant.[1] It is an evergreen bamboo with long-necked pachymorph rhizomes, characteristic of the genus, and is native to southwestern China.[1] Like many Yushania species, it has been described only from vegetative material, as flowering in temperate woody bamboos is infrequent and unpredictable.[3]
