Yusuke Narita

Yusuke Narita (成田 悠輔, Narita Yusuke; born 1986- [1]) is a Japanese businessman and economist. He is an Assistant Professor at Yale University[2] and President of Hanjuku Kaso Corporation.

He specializes in imagining and designing business and public policy using data, algorithms, mathematics, and poetry.

Career[edit]

Born in Kita-ku, Tokyo, he experienced his father's disappearance and his family's personal bankruptcy when he was a teenager.

He graduated from Azabu Junior and Senior High School. Due to an extreme sleep disorder, he was truant from school in middle and high school. While attending Azabu Junior High School, he frequented Kojin Karatani's NAM project[3]. Professional gamer Tokido (Hajime Taniguchi) was a classmate of his at Azabu Junior and Senior High School.

After graduating from the University of Tokyo with a B.A. in Economics, he received his M.A. from the University of Tokyo in 2011 and his Ph.D. from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) in 2016.

In 2017, he was appointed Assistant Professor in the Department of Economics at Yale University.
