ZAP-Hosting was founded by Marvin Kluck, who continues to serve as the company's current Chief Executive Officer. Since 2010, the company has built a reputation in Germany for offering a wide variety of game and web hosting plans tailored to both private individuals and business customers, steadily growing its presence within the domestic market. By mid-2017, ZAP-Hosting had expanded its operations beyond German borders, marking the beginning of its push to actively serve customers in the international market as well.
Company name
Since the company's founding, there has been considerable speculation among customers and the wider community about the meaning behind the name "ZAP." The origin, however, traces back to a particularly memorable moment in founder Marvin Kluck's own life: he came up with the idea while in the midst of his final exam in middle school, known in German as the Zentrale Abschlussprüfung. Shortly after completing this exam, Marvin went on to found ZAP-Hosting, drawing direct inspiration from the name of the test itself for the company's now well-known branding.
