ZCAS University (ZCASU) is a higher education institution located in Lusaka, Zambia.[1] It is formally recognized by the Higher Education Authority (HEA) as a ZQF Level 10 Tier-1 institution, legally permitted to offer learning programs up to the doctoral (PhD) degree level.[2]
History
The university operates as a primary academic subsidiary of the **Zambia Centre for Accountancy Studies** (ZAS), which was originally established by an Act of Parliament in 1989 to train professional accountants.[3]
To expand its mandate from purely professional qualifications to academic paths, ZCAS University was incorporated and officially registered as a higher education provider in 2016.[1] In late 2025, the university officially attained Tier One classification status under the Zambian national qualifications framework.[4]
Campus
The university's main urban campus is located at Plot 5309, **Dedan Kimathi Road**, in the central business region of Lusaka.[1] The infrastructure features computer laboratories, modern lecture theaters, and a specialized electronic library to aid distance learning.
Academics
ZCAS University runs over 40 undergraduate options and 14 postgraduate programs.[3] It utilizes a dual-delivery method, giving students options for full-time face-to-face instruction or Open and Distance Learning (ODL) formats.[1]
