Zach Smith
Zachary Todd Smith (born 7 April 1987, in Washington Terrace, Utah) is a businessman and entrepreneur from United States.[1][2] He is one of the founder of Funded Today, a privately-owned crowdfunding marketing agency headquartered in Utah.[3][4] He is also the founder of several other companies including Epic Profit Group, LLC, Start Doing Business, LLC, Unplugged, LLC, Smith Investments Holding Group, LLC, and AgileHG, LLC. Smith is currently based in Ogden, Utah.[5] Together with Thomas Alvord, Smith raised $156 million, which is most by any crowdfunding agency in the world. [1]
Biography[edit]
Smith was born in 1987, to Todd L. Smith and SharaLee VandenBosch Smith, in Washington Terrace, Utah. He completed his early education at Bonneville High School and graduated with a 4.0 GPA. Zach graduated Summa Cum Laude as the valedictorian from Weber State University’s John B. Goddard School of Business & Economics with a Bachelor of Science degree in Accounting in April of 2011.[6] He was also awarded with Most Outstanding Graduate for Accounting Award at Weber State University. Smith also served a two year LDS (Mormon) mission, Mandarin speaking, from October 2006 through October 2008 in Toronto, Canada. He is fluent in speaking Mandarin.[7]
Smith started his consulting career in 2009 by co-founding Epic Profit Group, an online internet consultant and marketing company, in Utah.[5] In 2011, he started another online consultation company Start Doing Business, LLC. Before both of those companies, Smith also had started a landscaping company called UnPlugged, LLC. Smith also owns a private real estate and small business lending group called Smith Investments Holding Group, LLC. Together, all of these companies fit under the AgileHG, LLC holding group.[8] Epic Profit Group and Agile HG were declared the 3rd most profitable companies out of all of the student-founded businesses in the state of Utah, in 2011 and 2013.[5] In 2014, Smith co-founded Funded Today, LLC with Thomas Alvord. Funded Today is a privately-owned American crowdfunding marketing agency headquartered in Utah. The company helps entrepreneurs worldwide to market their crowdfunding campaigns on either Kickstarter or Indiegogo. In 2015, Funded Today generated revenue of over 6 million dollars.[9][10][11] Currently, Smith serves as Chief Executive Officer at Funded Today.[12] Smith has been featured in numerous publications including USA Today, TechCrunch, Mashable, Entrepreneur, Forbes, and The Huffington Post. He is also the co-founder of CrowdCon Virtual, the largest virtual crowdfunding training and education summit in the world.[13][14]
