Zaena
Zaena Cherif (born February 21, 1991), better known by her stage name Zaena, is an American Hip hop and electronic music recording artist.
Early Life[edit]
Zaena Cherif was born in Sebha, Libya to a Libyan father and Irish mother.[1] She was writing songs, doing vocal work and even singing commercial jingles before returning to Chicago to partner with Jason Maek. [2]
Music Career[edit]
In October 2013, the duo Jason Maek & Zaena released their first visual album. [3] This lead to the following major recognition in 2014.
In early 2016, the duo released their second project Fashion Week: The Visual Album. The album referred to as a collection takes on a unique perspective of fashion week in the eyes of the designers rather than the producers. [4] The visual album was premiered at Room Seven. The premiere was 40 minutes long including dancing and animations. The album was then followed by a 40 city tour summer 2016.
