Zaid Zagha is a Jordanian telecommunications engineer and businessman, and the founder of Ocean Telecom, a telecommunications group headquartered in London, United Kingdom.

Ocean Telecom

Zagha founded Ocean Telecom in London in 2016. The company provides international voice termination, SMS messaging, and fraud detection services to telecom operators and governments across more than 150 countries. It operates entities in the United Kingdom, Turkey, and the United Arab Emirates.[1]

Ocean Telecom operates EasySim (easysim.ai), described as the United Kingdom's first AI-powered mobile virtual network operator, offering eSIM connectivity across more than 190 countries.[2]

Yemen telecom fraud investigation

In September 2026, Yemen's Minister of Communications and Information Technology, Prof. Dr. Shadi Saleh Basra, issued Ministerial Decision No. 26 of 2026, forming a nine-member joint investigation committee into international call smuggling. Multiple independent news outlets reported that the decision was issued following technical reports from Ocean Telecom, which uncovered organised smuggling of international calls through Yemen's international gateway, causing estimated annual losses of between three and five million US dollars to the Yemeni state.[3][4][5][6][7][8]

The investigation committee included representatives from the Ministry of Interior, State Security, and the Central Control and Accountability Agency, and was granted full powers to summon witnesses and request data from all telecommunications companies operating in Yemen.

KidzoNet partnership

In June 2026, Ocean Telecom partnered with KIDZONET, an Abu Dhabi-based child online protection company, to launch what the companies described as the United Kingdom's first eSIM-native child protection product. The service integrates carrier-level content filtering into Ocean Telecom's EasySim platform, activating automatically without requiring device-side configuration. The product was designed to align with standards set by the Internet Watch Foundation and the NSPCC.[9][10]
