Zainab Saidu Idris was born and raised in Kaduna, Kaduna State, Nigeria. Her interest in computing began during her secondary school years when she joined a computer club.
In 2013 she obtained a diploma in software engineering from the National Institution of Information and Technology in Kaduna. She later earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Information Technology from Iheris University in 2020.[1]

Creativity Enthusiast Network
In 2023, Idris founded the Creativity Enthusiast Network, a technology education initiative that promotes digital literacy among Hausa-speaking communities. The initiative focuses on translating complex technological concepts such as artificial intelligence, cybersecurity, and digital safety into accessible explanations in the Hausa language.[2]
The network provides technology education through online content, community training programs, and webinars aimed at improving participation in the digital economy in Northern Nigeria.
Technology advocacy
Idris has been involved in initiatives promoting women's participation in technology. She has served as a community leader within Google Women Techmakers, mentoring women interested in technology careers and organizing educational events.
She has also worked with Data Science Nigeria as an assistant program manager, supporting educational programs related to data science and digital innovation.[2]

In 2024, Idris was recognized by Startup Arewa as a Rising Star for her work promoting technology education and digital literacy in Northern Nigeria.[1]
