"Zero Pressure" is a song recorded by the Filipino girl group Bini. It is a 1980s-inspired synth-pop song with a funk influence. Its lyrics talk about ambition and hard work. Star Music released it as a single on May 16, 2025, along with an official performance video, the group's first since "Pantropiko". The video was shot in Ayala Malls Manila Bay. The song was composed at the same songwriting camp where "Cherry on Top" was created.

Background and release

In February 2025, at their Biniverse concert at the Philippine Arena, the Pinoy pop girl group Bini announced their plans to release their first all-English extended play (EP). The EP, also titled Biniverse, was released a few weeks later, on February 27. It included the previously released singles "Cherry on Top" and "Blink Twice", as well as new tracks like "Zero Pressure".[1]

On May 16,[2] Bini released "Zero Pressure" as a single, along with their first official performance video since "Pantropiko". It was shot Ayala Malls Manila Bay's A:Museum and features choreography by Renan and Kitkan, who had previously choreographed for other girl groups such Aespa, I-dle, and XG.[3]

Composition and lyrics

"Zero Pressure" is two minutes and fifty seconds long.[4] It is a 1980s-inspired synth-pop song[5] with a funk influence.[6] Its lyrics talk about ambition and perseverance.[5] The song was written by Skylar Mones, Michael "Lindgren" Schulz, Melanie Fontana, and Elle Campbell, with vocal arrangement by Anna Achacoso-Graham.[4] Schulz and Mones produced the song, with vocal production by Greg Shilling, mixing by Dan Naim, mastering by Leon Zervos, and surround mixing by Waxie Joaquin.[4][7] The song was composed at the same songwriting camp where "Cherry on Top" was created.[3] and recorded by Chris "Moophs" Lopez.[4]

In an interview with Genius' Sofia Sayson, Colet said that the song, especially the lyric "Zero pressure, zero diamonds", relates to the progression of Bini's career. She explained, "You can't create a diamond without enduring pressure, without relentless hard work, without persistent searching. That's Bini. We started from scratch, relentlessly searched for it, and shaped ourselves into who we are today."[8]

Reception

Billboard Philippines described "Zero Pressure" as a "breezy, feel-good anthem that radiates confidence, freedom, and self-love" and praised "vibrant" energy and "empowering" message. The track was included in the magazine's fan-voted list of the best songs of 2025.[6] Todd Inoue of The San Francisco Chronicle wrote that "Zero Pressure" was a more "sophisticated" sound for the group.[9]

In other media

In May 2025, Jake "Boaster" Howlett of the professional esports team Fnatic danced to "Zero Pressure" during his walk-off at the Valorant Champions Tour Grand Finals.[10][11]
