Zhang Yu (simplified Chinese: 张昱; traditional Chinese: 張昱; pinyin: Zhāng Yù; born 12 May 1988), also known as Elise Zhang, is an Chinese voice actress active in Shanghai. She is well known for voice acting as Mei in the video game Overwatch.[1]
Life and career[edit]
Zhang graduted from Beijing University of Chemical Technology as a bachelor of materials science and Shanghai Jiao Tong University as a master of chemical engineering. She took part in voice acting training for interest in "Spring Voice Acting Studio (清泉配音工作室)" and became a pro voice actress after her gradutation from SJTU. She is now working for "Spring Media" and could do voice acting in Mandarin Chinese, Cantonese Chinese and English.[1][2][3][4]
Zhang is keeping a signature thank you letter from Charlene Choi, a famous Cantopop singer and actress. Choi wrote the letter to Zhang for Zhang's voice acting Choi's roles in several films' Mandarin version.[5]
