Zhong Xina is a Chinese Dictatorship meme created in 2016 by a few Twitter users but was only associated with the name "Zhong Xina" or "John Xina" in early 2021. The meme started getting popular when a video of John Cena apologizing to all of China for calling Taiwan a country in an interview promoting the new movie that he was staring in, "Fast and Furious 9 (F9)".[1] It soon went viral on Reddit, Twitter and other social media. This would continue to grow in popularity as on May 26th, 2021, the t-shirt company American As Fack began selling a t-shirt with a photoshopped picture of John Cena looking like Chinese Communist Revolutionary Mao Zedong. It quickly spread to sites such as iFunny.com. A few days later, an oversaturated image started to appear on Reddit. The two root Subreddits were "r/CommunismMemes" and "r/blursedimages". The meme is still in circulation by time of writing and is still being used in Chinese Social Credit Memes. Bing Xi Zhong is also a notable and integral part of this meme, as his last name is exactly the same as Xina's. The connection between these two is unclear, although some have theorized that they were lovers.
