Zofia Garlińska-Hansen

From EverybodyWiki Bios & Wiki

Zofia Garlińska-Hansen (13 May 1924 - 24 January 2013) was a polish architect. Together with her husband, the architect Oskar Hansen, she created the theory of Open Form.[1][2]

The Hansens were very productive but only a few of their architectural works were ever built. Among these are the housing estates Osiedle Słowackiego in Lublin (1961) and Przyczółek Grochowski in Warsaw (1963), as well as the architects' own house in Szumin (1968). The projects were all drawn in the spirit of Open Form, but it was in the house in Szumin that the circumstances allowed them to fully realize the concept.[3]
