Zohar Levkovitz (born December 18, 1971) is an Israeli-American high-tech entrepreneur and angel investor, with a background in the advertising industry. Biography

Levkovitz was born in Kibbutz Dafna, Israel, to an economist father and a psychologist mother. He did his military service in a technology unit and volunteered at Greenpeace as part of his post-military travels.

Comverse hired Levkovitz as Chief Technology Officer for Strategic Activities for 3G and MMS technologies. In 2003, he resigned from Comverse and joined the Israeli internet toolbar development company, Hotbar, as Vice President of Product Development. He was also the Director of its subsidiary SmartShopper, an online shopping comparison site. [4]

In 2005, Levkovitz founded Amobee, an AdTech company, and ran the company as its CEO. In 2010, Levkovitz was awarded Technology Pioneer by the World Economic Forum[5]. Seven years after Amobee’s founding, in early 2012, it was acquired by Singtel, one of the largest East Asian cellular companies, for over $340 million, according to estimates[6]. In 2014, the Amobee division in Singapore acquired several of its competitors in the industry for over $1.5B: Adconion (for approximately $235 million) and Kontera (for $150 million).[7][8]

In 2018, Levkovitz co-founded L1ght with Ron Porat, where he serves as CEO. L1ght is an algorithm-based startup that combats online abuse, cyberbullying and online shaming.[9]

Levkovitz lived in Palo Alto for over a decade and has been recognized as one of the most influential Israelis in Silicon Valley. So much so that in 2011, he was named the winner of the Ernst & Young Entrepreneur Of The Year Award.[10][11]

Public activity

Levkovitz works to support and assist entrepreneurs. He's an investor and activist in the non-profit organization "Kama Tech" that works for the integration of the ultra-Orthodox in Israeli high-tech. Levkovitz is also one of the supporters of the SpaceIL Association that has the published goal of landing the first Israeli spacecraft on the moon, as part of an international competition led by Google and NASA. Levkovitz has been a member of the Board of Directors of the organization for a number of years and has worked to forge closer ties with NASA.[12]
