RouteNote is an independent record label, headquartered in the United Kingdom and founded in 2007[1][2] by Steven finch[3]
Details
RouteNote was created with the aim of helping new artists publish their productions without mediating with any existing content aggregator or record company. The RouteNote services allow you to distribute all of an artist's productions to the largest digital music selling platforms, such as iTunes, Spotify and Amazon.[4]
The services of publication and distribution of content in RouteNote can be given in two modalities: the first one is totally free for the artist and in this the musician can load his content to the site and the profits obtained from the production, a percentage will be for the entity and the rest will be for the artist or stamp. In the second mode the artist or label pays an annual membership to RouteNote and the proceeds of all productions are for the artist or label.
The platform allows loading content in high quality MP3 format (over 192 Kbps) and FLAC files. Previously, only FLAC support was allowed for artists publishing under the aforementioned subscription service; as of August 2018, it is available to all users, regardless of preferred publishing.[5]
Operating Mode
RouteNote is a means of publishing content open to everyone. The mechanics of publication is as follows: When you have readied the material to publish you enter the website and you enter a private account of the user (the artist or stamp). Upon entering, the option is given to enter a new release. The service grants a UPC code to register the new release, although the user can also place their own if chosen. The artist then enters the basic data of the launch, such as the artist name, the title of the launch, year, cover and other data. You must also enter data on thecopyrightof the music and the name of the record label if you have, however if the artist is totally independent you can place your name. Afterwards, the content is uploaded. When this stage is complete, the data of each topic must be filled out with the title, subtitle and/or artists participating in each track. Finally the online stores are selected where you want the content to appear and finally accept the terms and conditions.
After this there is an approval period that usually lasts from two weeks to a month. During this time, moderators of the site analyze the content and if it complies with the conditions it will be published. The minimum period to publish an album or single is one month.
Earnings and Payments
At the time of entering this portal, it is necessary to have a PayPal account to receive the winnings. Payments are made when the artist has already accumulated US $ 50 or more in his account and these will be paid in the fortnight of the second month following the last statement.
