"What Love Is" is a song by the Swarthmore, Pennsylvania indy rock band Us & Dad, written and first played in 1993-1994 and released on the band's 1996 album Skinner. The song suggests and mockingly examines numerous metaphors for love, both positive and negative, concluding in the chorus that "love's a wrecking ball," a metaphor since employed in numerous later songs by other performers.
