From EverybodyWiki Bios & Wiki

12in12for5 or #12in12for5 is a group of 12 fundraising challenges undertaken by Gary Staerck to be undertaken in 2021[1].

Gary will undertake these challenges with his family to raise money for 5 charities[2]

There is a blog[3], fundraising page and social media pages.

Gary works as Head of Stage for the Traverse Theatre [4]

Each of the charities has been chosen for personal reasons to the Staerck family.

Twins Trust - Gary has 5 year old twin girls and the support and knowledge of the Twins Trust has been invaluable.

Edinburgh Children's Hospital Charity - Gary lost his brother when he was 14 and he spent a lot of time in the "Sick Kids" and, having 3 kids of my own at one point, it felt like a second home.

Simpsons Special Care Babies - The care in the Simpsons Baby unit at Royal Infirmary of Edinburgh is excellent and his twins were born there at 33 weeks and spent time in the special care unit and were looked after amazingly.

Scottish Autism - Garys Twins are going through testing just now for ASD and this has been a good resource so far.

shout 85258 - Mental health is so important and is often looked after so badly. This free text service will chat to you when you need it and won't judge. It's great for being able to reply at your own pace and not having to talk out loud.
