13 Stars, also known as 13 Stars Media, is an American print and digital media company based in Atascadero, California. The company owns and operates several print and digital properties, including the newspaper of record for Atascadero, The Atascadero News and The Malibu Times.
13 Stars Media owns newspapers, magazines, and provides web hosting for B2B operations and other digital services.

The company was founded in 2018 by Nicholas and Hayley Mattson after they purchased Paso Robles Magazine from Bob Chute in 2017.[1] The company started Colony Magazine[2] (name changed to Atascadero News Magazine in 2021[3]) in 2018, and launched Central Coast TRVLR in July 2019, two months prior to purchasing The Atascadero News and The Paso Robles Press.

13 Stars Media publishes 11 newspapers and magazines in California, including Atascadero News, Paso Robles Press, Paso Robles Magazine, Atascadero News Magazine, Morro Bay Life,[4] Avila Beach Life,[5] Central Coast TRVLR+Vino, and Central Coast Ranch Life.
In October 2021, the company acquired a San Luis Obispo County monthly magazine called Central Coast Journal, which covers SLO County information, formerly known as the SLO Journal Plus.
In November 2021, 13 Stars Media acquired The Malibu Times[6] as the southern anchor point of its territory, with a 75-year old newspaper and magazine at the western-most point of Los Angeles County.
