16 Entertainment is an independent music company founded in 2021 by Alex Wilhelm. Based in Austin, Texas, the company provides services to independent artists including streaming strategy, label services, artist development, negotiation support, and distribution.
In 2024, Billboard Magazine named Wilhelm and 16 Entertainment to its annual Indie Power Players list, noting that the company had generated over 5 billion streams for independent artists and had worked with acts such as Hotel Ugly, Violent Vira, and TV Girl.[1]
Before founding 16 Entertainment, Wilhelm held senior A&R roles at Warner Records, Capitol Records, and Atlantic Records/APG. He has signed multiple multi-platinum artists, served on the Grammy Awards Committee, and has been featured on Billboard’s Indie Power Players and 40 Under 40 lists.[1][2]
