Plot[edit]
The movie opens on Connie Lashley, a White House transcriber, discovering the infamous 18 ½ minute gap in the Nixon tape. She soon contacts Times reporter Paul Marrow in order to share her finding. After initially clashing with each other, Marrow suggests that the pair go to the motel The Silver Sands so that they can listen to the evidence.
Upon their arrival to the motel, Marrow and Lashley pose as a married couple in order to avoid suspicion. Almost immediately, Marrow and Lashley find that Marrow's tape recorder is broken and that they need to locate a replacement. The pair interacts with Silver Sands guests, including a group of hippies are concocting a plan to destroy Wonder Bread. Marrow and Lashley leave the hippies and return to motel manager's office, where they find that a mysterious message is waiting for them. Marrow panics because he believes that they are being watched by the CIA.
