The 1972โ€“73 Yale Bulldogs men's basketball team represented Yale University during the 1972โ€“73 men's college basketball season. The Bulldogs, led by 16th year head coach Joe Vancisin, played their home games at John J. Lee Amphitheater of the Payne Whitney Gymnasium and were members of the Ivy League. They finished the season 9โ€“16, 6โ€“8 in Ivy League play to finish in fifth place.[1]

Guard Tim Kearns was the team's leading scorer with 689 points in 25 games. Other statistical leaders included forward Mike Baskauskas with 213 rebounds and 90 assists.[2]
