Elections to Salop County Council were held on Thursday, 7 June 1973. The whole council of 63 members was up for election and the result was that the Independents gained control, winning 31 seats. The Conservatives ended as the third largest political group with 12, while Labour won 16 seats and the Liberals won 3, ending with 16 and 3 respectively.[1]
