2012 NFL quarterbacks win–loss records

From EverybodyWiki Bios & Wiki

Peyton Manning leads all active quarterbacks in Regular season wins

In the National Football League the quarterback is the only position player to be credited with a record of wins and losses as a starter. At the end of the 2012 season, Peyton Manning had won 154 games and is the current leader. Seven quarterbacks in this group are in the Top 50 quarterbacks of all time based on the total number of victories in the regular season. The current threshold to place in the top 50 is 69 wins. With 7 victories in the 2012 season, Philip Rivers joined that elite list.

Tom Brady has the highest winning percentage among active QB's with at least a full season of starts and is in 2nd place among active QBs for most regular season wins.

2012 Season Win Loss Records[edit]

The sortable table below shows starting Quarterback wins and losses for the 2012 season.
Ties in the NFL are counted as ½ win and ½ loss and are shown as ".5" win and ".5" loss.

All records can be verified at the Pro-football reference.com site titled "Football Players who played as a Quarterback".[1]

Career Win Loss Record[edit]

Joe Flacco has led the Ravens to the playoffs 5 straight years.
Eli Manning leads the NFC East in Regular season wins

The sortable table below shows active quarterbacks that have been credited with starts and were on a team roster during the 2012 season.[2] The career win loss totals are by the Qb's name. Wins separated by teams are on the right side of the table.

Ties in the NFL are counted as ½ win and ½ loss. In the rare case of a player leading his team to a tie, it will show that way.

The quarterbacks are ranked by most wins first, then fewest losses 2nd. If a qb did not start in 2012, he is listed in the lower part of the table.

  • Sorting hints – Placing cursor over a sorting tab will show if the next click will sort column in ascending (small triangle pointing up) or descending order (triangle pointing down).
    • To show in order of 2012 wins and losses, sort the Losses 2012 in ascending order.
    • Next sort Wins 2012 in descending order.

Rookies[edit]

Andrew Luck had a rookie win-loss record of 11–5.

Before the NFL/AFL merger, no more than 2 rookie quarterbacks had been named starters for the season opener. 5 rookies were named week 1 starters for the 2012 season.[77] Only 5 rookies started games in all of the 2011 season.

Rookies named team starters in preseason

  • Ryan Tannehill, Miami Dolphins
  • Robert Griffin III, Washington Redskins
  • Andrew Luck, Indianapolis Colts
  • Brandon Weeden, Cleveland Browns
  • Russell Wilson, Seattle Seahawks

Rookies named team starters during season

  • Nick Foles, Philadelphia – replaced Vick because of his concussion.
  • Ryan Lindley, Arizona – replaced Skelton for week 12, coach's decision.
  • Kirk Cousins, Washington – replaced Griffin for week 15 because of Griffin's knee injury.
