Local elections will be held in the Province of Sarangani on May 9, 2016, within the Philippine general election. Voters will select candidates for all local positions: a town mayor, vice mayor and town councilors, as well as members of the Sangguniang Panlalawigan, the vice-governor, governor and a representative for the lone district of Sarangani.

Background[edit]

On October 5, 2015, Incumbent Rep.Manny Pacquiao formally declared that he was running for senator under the UNA Party of vice-president Jejomar Binay even though he was possible to run for a 3rd Term as Sarangani Representative,[1] instead his younger brother, Rogelio Pacquiao,to run his current position and his wife, Vice Governor Jinkee Pacquiao decided to retire from politics after only serve one term to focus on their family and her businesses.[2]

Steve Solon decided to run for re-election as Governor with his new running mate, Board Member Elmer de Peralta from Kiamba under the party of People's Champ Movement

His Opponent are Businessman Mohamad Bong Aquia running under Liberal Party with his running mate, Ret.Compulsory of PNP and Dean Willie Dangane,PhD and Juan Domino,a Opponent of a Chiongbian Dynasty with no running mate under the Nationalist People's Coalition.
