On 29 June 2017 at 18:30 Local Time, a man attempted to drive a vehicle towards pedestrians near Creteil Central Mosque in Créteil, France.[2][3]
Incident[edit]
A man attempted to drive a car into pedestrians outside the Creteil Central Mosque near Paris. Security barriers that had been put up to protect the mosque apparently thwarted his attempts.
Police say a man was arrested in connection with the incident, with French newspaper Le Parisien reporting he was an Armenian national who wanted to avenge Islamist linked attacks in Paris.
Police said that the man's 4x4 vehicle had repeatedly struck bollards and barriers that had been placed to protect the mosque before leaving the area. He was arrested a short time later.
