Garuda Cup is a football tournament contested by the men's national teams of the member associations of FIFA with senior team. The tournament is held PSSI. Its scheduled is 32 days and held in Indonesia.
The final tournament will involve 32 national teams, and the automatically qualified host team. A total of 64 matches. Garuda Cup held with reason dispaned FIFA is end and Indonesia can held to international match. Indonesia after losing with Thailand in the final second leg AFF Cup 2016 with score 2-0 (2 goal Thailand) make to Indonesia finished AFF Cup 2016 with runner up status.

Teams[edit]
Garuda Cup held with invite men's national teams of the member associations of FIFA with senior team in the World Cup. Every team play in the group stage with 3 match on the group (final matchday held together from the same group), knock out stage (round of 16, quarter final, semi final, 3rd place play off, and final match).

Tiebreakers[edit]
In league format, the ranking of teams in each group is based on the following criteria (regulations Articles 20.6 and 20.7):[2]
- Points (3 points for a win, 1 point for a draw, 0 points for a loss)
- Goal difference
- Goals scored
- Points in matches between tied teams
- Goal difference in matches between tied teams
- Goals scored in matches between tied teams
- Fair play points
- first yellow card: minus 1 point
- indirect red card (second yellow card): minus 3 points
- direct red card: minus 4 points
- yellow card and direct red card: minus 5 points
- Drawing of lots by the PSSI
In cases where teams finishing in the same position across different groups are compared for determining which teams advance to the next stage, the criteria is decided by the confederation and require the approval of FIFA (regulations Article 20.8).[2]
In knockout format, the team that has the higher aggregate score over the two legs progresses to the next round. In the event that scores is draw the thirty minutes of extra time are played, divided into two fifteen-minutes halves. If no goals are scored during extra time, the tie is decided by penalty shoot-out (regulations Article 20.9).
Group stage[edit]
The top two teams of each group advance to the round of 16. The rankings of teams in each group are determined as follows (regulations Article 32.5):[2]
- points obtained in all group matches;
- goal difference in all group matches;
- number of goals scored in all group matches;
If two or more teams are equal on the basis of the above three criteria, their rankings are determined as follows:
- points obtained in the group matches between the teams concerned;
- goal difference in the group matches between the teams concerned;
- number of goals scored in the group matches between the teams concerned;
- fair play points
- first yellow card: minus 1 point;
- indirect red card (second yellow card): minus 3 points;
- direct red card: minus 4 points;
- yellow card and direct red card: minus 5 points;
- drawing of lots by the PSSI.

Knockout Stage[edit]
In the knockout stages, if a match is level at the end of normal playing time, extra time is played (two periods of 15 minutes each) and followed, if necessary, by a penalty shoot-out to determine the winner.[2]
