The 2019 AFC Championship Game was played in Kansas City, Missouri on January 19, 2020. The Kansas City Chiefs were hosting their second consecutive AFC Championship after losing to the New England Patriots a year prior.[1] The Tennessee Titans were playing in their first AFC Championship Game since 2002[2] where they lost to the Oakland Raiders.[3] The Chiefs won the game 35-24 after trailing 17–7 in the second quarter.[4] They advanced to their first Super Bowl since Super Bowl IV, defeating the San Francisco 49ers.[5] This was also the first AFC Championship Game without a team from the AFC East involved since 2008.
Divisional Rounds[edit]
The Titans upset the No. 1 Seed Baltimore Ravens defeating them 28–12,[6] while the Kansas City Chiefs defeated the Houston Texans 51-31 after trailing 24–0 in the second quarter.[7]
