On February 22, 2019 an earthquake with a magnitude of 7.5 Mw was recorded in Pastaza Province in Ecuador causing minor damage with widespread panic, as well as causing minor shaking in Colombia.
Earthquake[edit]
The earthquake struck a sparsely populated area, but was also felt in neighboring Peru and Colombia. The hypocenter was at an intermediate depth of about 82 miles (132 km) according to the USGS.[1][2] Aftershocks were recorded with a few being felt by people.[2]
