Local elections was held in La Paz, Abra, on Monday, May 9, 2022, within the Philippine general election. The voters elected for the elective local posts in the municipality: the mayor, vice mayor and eight councilors.

Overview[edit]

Incumbent Mayor Menchie Bernos is eligible for running reelection but instead she run for Congresswoman. Her party nominated her husband Incumbent Congressman Joseph Sto. Niño Bernos for the position of Mayor.

Incumbent Vice-Mayor Benito Nono is eligible for running reelection and nominated by the Nacionalista for Vice Mayor.

Sangguniang Bayan elections[edit]

Voters will elect eight (8) councilors to comprise the Municipal Council or the Sangguniang Bayan. Candidates are voted separately so there are chances where winning candidates will have unequal number of votes and may come from different political parties. The eight candidates with the highest number of votes win the seats.
