The 2022 World Athletics Half Marathon Championships, originally scheduled to take place in Yangzhou, China, on 20 March 2022, were first postponed to 27 March and then to 13 November before being cancelled due to the coronavirus pandemic.[1][2][3][4][5][6][7][8][9]
As a result of the cancellation, the World Athletics Council decided to award the 2027 World Athletics Road Running Championships to Yangzhou.[1][2][3]
