On 10 May 2023 a bomb exploded outside a police station in Barzeh, Syria, leaving one dead and four others injured.[1]

Background[edit]

As a result of the Syrian civil war terrorist attacks across the country have taken place claiming hundreds of lives.[2]

Bombing[edit]

A car bomb blew up outside a police station in Barzeh, Syria leaving one dead and four others injured. The Islamic State claimed responsibility for the attack.[3] Attacks in the capital city Damascus are rare, ever since the government took back the city from rebels fighting in the civil war and the bombing comes amid Syria re-entering the Arab League after a 12-year suspension following the war in the country.[4]
