The 2023 NCAA Men's College World Series[lower-alpha 1] will be the final stage of the 2023 NCAA Division I baseball tournament. It is scheduled from June 16 through 26 at Charles Schwab Field Omaha in Omaha, Nebraska. This will mark the 76th edition of the College World Series and 73rd time the event was held in Omaha.[1]
The tournament will feature eight teams in two double elimination brackets with the two winners meeting in a best-of-three championship series.
Background[edit]
The 2023 edition of the NCAA Men's College World Series featured two teams from the ACC, Wake Forest the winner of the Atlantic Division and Virginia the winner of the Coastal Division, as well as both being National seeds winning their Super Regionals. Wake Forest's previous appearance came in 1955, ending the longest drought in ACC history. Oral Roberts made the MCWS for the first time since 1978 coming from the Summit League. TCU won the Big 12 conference tournament and ended up hosting a Super Regional after overall Number 3 seed Arkansas was eliminated after 2 games. The two top teams and two of the top five National seeds from the SEC would make the MCWS in Florida and LSU.
