A long-tracked, violent tornado directly impacted Rolling Fork, Mississippi and Silver City, Mississippi as well as many surrounding areas, resulting in catastrophic damage. Amid ongoing search and rescue, at least 26 deaths have been confirmed. An Ace General Hardware and a Family Dollar building were completely destroyed. The tornado continued northeast, passing near Midnight, and soon struck Silver City where multiple manufactured homes were destroyed, resulting in further fatalities. The National Weather Service in Jackson’s storm survey has given the tornado a EF4 preliminary rating.[2][3][4]
