2025 Virginia mass kidnapping

The 2025 Virginia mass kidnapping was a period between August 3, 2025 and August 9, 2025 when 88 children went missing.[1][2][3] Virginia State Police say the number of missing children is no more than usual, and that most missing children are runaways who soon return home rather than victims of abduction.[4]

Since January 2025 to current, a total of 3,274 children have been reported missing to the MCC. Of these, 141 (as of 10:30 am Wednesday, Aug. 13, 2025) are still missing or approximately 4%.
