Ultraskate[edit]
The Ultraskate is a 24-hour format of ultramarathon for various disciplines of skateboarding[1]. Ultraskate races are held on closed courses where athletes compete to race the farthest distance within a continuous 24-hour time limit.[2][3][4] Individual athletes or relay teams compete on skateboards, longboards, inline skates or quad skates[3]. Some recurring Ultraskate events include: Miami Ultraskate, UK Ultraskate, and Dutch Ultraskate.
Race Format[edit]
Athletes ride a loop on a closed course where the total distance ridden is recorded over a continuous, uninterrupted, 24-hour timed period to determine the distance ridden during an event.[5]
Rules[edit]
- The course must be a loop, returning to the same point, to eliminate advantages gained from external forces such as terrain or wind.
- The total distance traveled is determined by the number of completed laps by a competitor within the 24 hour continuous time limit.[2]
- The competitor must propel themselves without the aid of motorization or other external forces.
