2TheBeat
2theBeat was an Italian hip hop musical event that was held annually from 2004 to 2006, created and staged by rapper Inoki and after 2005 Moddi MC. The main topic of the event was rhyming improvisation (freestyle rap).[1]
The 2004 edition of 2theBeat is considered to be the most important season of the show, attracting up to 2500 people, including also the participation of leading artists of the Italian freestyle rap scene such as Danno, El Presidente, Jake La Furia, Tormento, Turi and the winner of the final challenge Moddi MC, who later became the conductor in place of Inoki in the last edition.[2] Although the event had only 3 editions, MCs of all Italy took part in them.[3]
The 2theBeat provided for the recording of audio-video format of the challenges, which were packaged in a double CD that was then given away at the entrance of the following challenge.[4] The last edition of the competition took place in 2006.[5]
