2X MDM is a Mobile Device Management (MDM) solution. 2X Software's solutions are available in both on-premise and cloud-based (SaaS) versions. 2X MDM allows organizations to manage and secure mobile devices, including those on iOS and Android.[2]
History
2X MDM was acquired by 2X Software from 3CX Phone System in June 2014 [3]
In September 2014, 2X Software launched version 8 of 2X MDM, and the updated Aquamail app in October 2014.[4]
Product description
2X MDM is Mobile Device Management software to manage iOS and Android devices. The main characteristics are localization, central configuration, wipe, lock, and remote control.[5]
- Localization - the device can be identified on a map using the GPS locator.
- Central configuration - it is possible to push email, password, and WiFi configuration to all the devices connected to the system.
- Wipe - it is possible to cancel the data on the phone remotely via 3G or an SMS connection.
- Lock - it is possible to lock the device using 3G or SMS connection.
- Remote control (only for Android devices) - it is possible to control the phone remotely from a web browser.
The June 2014 Gartner report forecast an increase in the adoption of mobile device management solutions, in consideration of the growth in use of mobile devices. By optimizing the functionality of mobile devices and controlling and protecting data, risks are reduced for the organizations using the devices.[6]
