The 3A is a bus service running between Dunfermline city centre and Fife Leisure Park, Scotland.

History[edit]

The 3A was introduced on the 18th August 2014. Between 2014 and 2022, it ran as a circular alongside the 3. Routes 3 and 3A began and terminated at Townhill, with the 3 running a clockwise service via Abbeyview, Duloch Park and Pitcorthie, and the 3A running the anti-clockwise service via Pitcorthie, Duloch Park and Abbeyview. Each route ran every 30 minutes.

On the 7th November 2022, the Townhill-Duloch circular was abolished, with the 3A route number retained as an evening and Sunday service running between Dunfermline bus station and Fife Leisure Park via Pitcorthie and Duloch Park.

Operation[edit]

The 3A is run as a commercial operation by Stagecoach East Scotland, and is thus not supported by any subsidies. It operates between 7pm and midnight on Monday to Saturday evenings, and between 8am and 11pm on Sundays.[1] Weekday services between Dunfermline and Fife Leisure Park are provided by the 1, 1A, 2, 2A and 3.
