History[edit]
3dcart founder Gonzalo Gil launched Infomart 2000, 3dcart’s parent company, in 1997 as a high school side-project. Jimmy Rodriguez, 3dcart’s co-founder and COO, joined the company in 2004, when the company was rebranded from Infomart 2000 to 3dcart.[5]
In September 2015, 3dcart launched version 7.0 of its platform, introducing a redesigned control panel and dashboard, REST API, and an update to 3dcart’s core infrastructure.[6] In the same month, 3dcart launched a new version of its platform, 3dcart Enterprise, for high volume online stores.[7]
In October 2015 3dcart launched its iPad-based POS system, allowing merchants to accept credit card, cash, and check payments from their iPads.[8]
In June 2016, 3dcart announced the launch of its Managed Google Shopping service.[9] The company also announced a redesigned Product Editor and the launch of built-in webhooks.[10]
Products[edit]
3dcart offers three tiers of its e-commerce shopping cart product, with various pricing points in each tier. The small business tier offers various options from $9.99/mo to $99.99/mo, with the amount of bandwidth and number of products allowed increasing with each plan level. The mid-sized business tier consists of two plans that offer increased bandwidth. The final option, the enterprise tier, is available for high-volume stores.[11]
