4reign Rich Biography
Ricardo Velazquez Jr. (born November 18, 1993), better known by his stage name 4reign Rich, is an American rapper and songwriter. He’s collaborated with artists such as Jin Gates, Sur Fresh, Iceberg Slim, and Multi Platinum, Grammy nominated producer Jimi Kendrix.[1] He’s often known for his lyrics, delivery and catchy hooks. At the age of 22 he won a talent show in Queens, NY where the winner took home one thousand dollars in cash. This is when he knew he had what it takes to make it. He came to prominence in 2015 with his first single “Bad And You Know It”, which led to getting him lots of recognition in the music industry, except he went by the name of Filthy Rich at the time.[2] He continued gaining traction as he then released songs such as “More Than Friends” in 2017, another big push for his career as it got him noticed by Rich Dollaz.[3] For 3 years he was signed to a management deal under Dollaz Unlimited. The young artist appeared on Love & Hip Hop season 8 and on the cover of Elegant Hoodness Magazine. As things were coming together it seems like they actually took a turn when his grandfather passed away in 2018. He would come in and out of the music scene for the next few years, mainly staying in the shadows as he continued to build his network from New York to Los Angeles. He made sure to stay tapped in with Nipsey Hussle’s All Money In crew on the west coast, and with Jin Gates on the east. Finally in 2021 he released “Shes A Baddie” along with a music video; coming back on the scene revamped with a new image, sound and name.[4][5] He then landed a placement on MLB The Show 23 with his single “This My Lifestyle”, which he released in 2021.

Early life
Ricardo Velazquez Jr. was born on November 18, 1993, in New York City, mainly raised in Dyckman. A neighborhood better known as Washington Heights. His nationality is Dominican and Puerto Rican. He was primarily raised by his grandparents, which also led to him spending lots of time in Allentown, Pennsylvania growing up.[1][2] Reflecting on his upbringing, he has said,
“Life showed me many lessons at a young age, it’s like we live fast and die young where I come from. That’s why failing wasn’t an option for me. I just knew where I’d end up, if I didn’t make it out.”
Music career
Early career beginnings
He started to write and create his own music at the age of 11, that’s when he released his first single ever called “Money Man” with a music video to go with it. At such a young age he became a hood celebrity. He attended I.S. 218 middle school at the time and was already known for his rapping skills. This is when he fell in love with music. In high school he began to record himself at the age of 16 and started to share his songs on Soundcloud,[13] an online platform for music artists. He then continued to make music for the love of it until he decided to take it serious after winning the Q.B.M.F talent show. He's made lots of networks and connections along the way.
