The 500th Anniversary of the Zaporozhian Cossacks (Ukrainian: 500-ліття Запорозького козацтва) was a large social movement conducted in early August 1990 commemorating the 500th anniversary of the establishment of the Zaporozhian Cossacks. The event was organized by the People's Movement of Ukraine national political party, the Association of Ukrainian Language of Taras Shevchenko, and a number of local administrations, particularly from Dnipropetrovsk, Zaporizhia, and Nikopol.

The event took place in the Dnipropetrovsk and Zaporizhia provinces,[1] at the time administrative parts of the Ukrainian Soviet Socialist Republic before Ukraine attained independence in 1991. The number of participants in the celebrations, conducted from August 1–5, was placed between 300,000 and 500,000 from all regions of Ukraine.
