Description[edit]
The 50 Mayhem is a rimless rifle cartridge that was first developed during 2010 and production started in 2017-2018 in Sweden, and it was released 2018. The main reason for the cartridge is to make it possible to hunt larger game like wildboars, moose, brown bear and deer with subsonic loads and still be able to have an energy over 2000 J at 100 meters, which is the legal minimum energy to hunt big game in Sweden.
The 50 Mayhem is intended for bolt action rifles with a standard length action and for use with or without a suppressor.
The main factory load is a 725 grain(46 gram) Lehigh bullet at subsonic speed, and there are also high velocity rounds available like the Lehigh 327 grain.
Availability[edit]
Rifles are custom made in Sweden and based on actions from Weatherby, Blaser R8, Tikka, Remington, Howa and Mossberg. Ammunition is factory made in Sweden.
